Betsy is the first online marketplace where you can buy and sell exclusively the best of Filipino hand-made products, art, and crafts to local and international market.  Our team has created this platform, BetsyPH.com, because we believe in the creative minds and the workmanship of our local artisans. Among the list of items you can buy and sell with us are Philippine handicrafts, accessories & gifts, vintage items, sustainable clothing, bags, shoes, furniture, and so on. To find out about what is expected from you as a seller, a buyer, and a third party, each section below describes our policy. Having an account with us will mean compliance to this policy and agreement to our Terms & Conditions.

General Community

  • Our community are expected to be trustworthy, thoughtful and empathetic with each other.
  • Think before you act. Vulgar sellers, Bogus buyers, and Joy reservers are unwanted. We don’t want to waste one’s effort and time.
  • Never name and shame. We don’t tolerate hate speech, demeaning remarks, unprofessionalism, and unethical acts.
  • We say “NO” to discrimination against gender / sexual orientation, race / ethnicity, colour, age, religion, disability or any other characteristic protected under any local / any applicable law.
  • Anything illegal is not allowed.

Seller Policy

Allowable / Prohibited Listing

  • Here are the allowable items that CAN be sold on Betsy and are expected from the sellers:
  • All products that fall under these categories i.e. Arts & Crafts, Furniture & Decor, Clothing & Accessories, Bags, Shoes, Little Treasures, Travel, Make-up & Skin Care
  • All products that are made and / or designed by Filipinos / with Filipino roots
  • Clear, Transparent. Honest, and Not Copying others work be it the product that you sell, the photograph that you upload online, the specification / description / attributes that you put on your listing, the suppliers and artists that you involve, the raw materials that you used, your shop online / physical presence, and so on
  • All product listings are available for purchase at a set / reasonable price (not over / underpriced)
  • All products/ raw materials / services used are authorized / compliant with local / any applicable laws, where necessary
  • Here are the prohibited items that CANNOT be sold on Betsy and are not expected from the sellers:
  • All items that are NOT made / designed by Filipinos / with Filipino roots
  • Any counterfeit / fake / replica / bears similarities with other items / branded items
  • Reselling is not allowed. Sellers should only list original or 100% authentic products they make / design
  • Misleading / False information and / or advertisement about your shop, product and / or service i.e. impersonating other shop / any name you are not authorized to use, exaggerating price, mislabeling of goods especially those that pose potential health / safety risk, unwarranted sense of urgency to deceive buyers for hasty purchases online, misleading promotions / discounts on your product / services / stocks / quantities and so on
  • Advertising for services / companies / branded items / sponsorship
  • Usage of other brands trademark

Fees / Payments

  • Transaction / Payment Processing Fees
  • Betsy only allows the following mode of payment:
  • Over the counter payment – for walk-in deposit / payment to a branch of any of our supported banks / non-banks establishments between the buyer and the seller
  • Internet / Online Banking – for our supported online bank transfers between the buyer and the seller
  • Authorized Credit Card / Money Transfer Services – for charges against  our supported credit card / money transfer accounts between the buyer and the seller
  • Cash transaction is allowed
  • All sellers are responsible to pay any taxes / dues incurred as a result of the transaction made through our platform in accordance to local / any applicable laws
  • Betsy collects 10 % commission per item sold if a purchase is made via card transaction.
  • Betsy collect 15% commission per item sold if a purchase is via cash transaction.

  • Sellers shall report any issue arising from a delivery of product/s within five (5) days to the buyers
  • Shipping / Delivery Fees
    • Seller can opt to pay / to charge any shipping / delivery fees incurred as a result of transaction made through Betsy with the buyer

Cancellations / Refunds / Returns / Exchanges

  • Cancellation
    • Sellers shall address any cancellation / issue arising from a cancellation of product/s reported by the buyers
  • Seller may cancel the buyer the amount paid / agreed when:
    • The buyer did not pay the amount due and / or at the agreed time of reservation of the item
    • Both the buyer and the seller agree to cancel the transaction before the delivery / shipment
    • Both the buyer and the seller agree to return the item to the seller
  • Sellers shall address any cancellation / issue arising from a cancellation of product/s reported by the buyers
  • Any inquiry or requests for cancellation arising out of errors in assessment, computation and charges shall be processed through Betsy within five (5) days from notice of receipt.
  • Returns / Exchanges
    • Sellers shall address any returns / exchanges / issue arising from a returns / exchanges of product/s reported by the buyers
    • Any inquiry or requests for returns / exchanges arising out of errors in assessment, computation and charges shall be processed through BETSY within five (5) days from notice of receipt.
  • Refunds
    • Sellers shall report any issue arising from a refund of payment within five (5) days to the buyers
  • Seller may cancel the buyer the amount paid / agreed when:
    • Both the buyer and the seller agree to cancel the transaction before the delivery / shipment
    • Both the buyer and the seller agree to return the item to the seller
  • Any inquiry or requests for refund arising out of errors in assessment, computation and charges shall be processed through BETSY within five (5) days from notice of receipt.

Customer Service / Feedback / Complaints

  • Betsy encourages the buyer and the seller to communicate and settle the matters amicably and / or to resolve disputes between themselves to the greatest extent possible
  • Here are when the seller can raise a dispute to Betsy:
    • If the buyer does not reply to email of any form of contact from the seller within 5 days.
    • After 30 days of attempting to resolve the matters between the buyer and the seller
  • When the above situations are reached, you may send an e-mail to support@betsyph.com with subject “Unresolved Dispute with buyer <the account owner name>”
  • Escalation fee applies and seller may be charged
  • Subsequent costs attached to the complaint shall be charged back to the seller

  • The seller rating is based on the following metrics: Reasonable – Price , Seller Response / Resolution Time, Cancellation Rate (Due to seller’s fault), Return Rate (Due to seller’s fault), Refund Rate (Due to seller’s fault), Quality – Seller (Reliable, Trustworthy), Overall Seller Rating

Sanctions

  • Here are the sanctions that will / may be imposed to a seller:
  • Offenders may have their account frozen temporarily / permanently depending on the severity of their violations.
  • Anything illegal is strictly prohibited. It is at the sole discretion of Betsy to delete your account without prior notice.
  • Failure to address 3 complaints within a month will / may cause temporary suspension. It is at the sole discretion of Betsy to suspend your account without prior notice.
  • Overall seller rating and having an average rating of 2 may mean a temporary or permanent deactivation of your account for a period of a week to two months depending on the severity of the complaints raised.

Submission of Appeal

  • Here are the ways for you to submit your appeal in case of suspension of your account / any reactivation required:
  • Address a product return based on the agreed timeline.
  • Send an e-mail tosupport@betsyph.com with subject “Submission of Appeal for <the account owner name>”

    • Any inquiry or requests for cancellation arising out of errors in assessment, computation and charges shall be processed through Betsy within five (5) days from notice of receipt.

Third Party Policy

  • The buyer / seller shall communicate directly their complaints, concerns or questions relating to any transaction provided by the third party
  • Betsy shall not be liable to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance of BETSY’s services
  • Betsy shall not be liable to any disputes raised to the third party
  • Betsy shall not be liable to any errors, mistakes, omissions or inaccuracies in any material, content, message, transmission or act, whether posted, e-mailed, transmitted, submitted, advertised, offered or otherwise made available in the platform and/or Betsy site caused by Third Party
  • Betsy shall not be liable for any and all claims for damages, loss, injury or death in relation to the transactions from the third-party
